Our Heritage

Simpsons was founded back in 1961 by Mr Simon Woodgreaves.

The first main site for Simpsons was the current site of the Robinsons Group on Cooke Road, Lowestoft which was built with the help of Mr Simon Woodgreaves.

It was a brand new custom made showroom for the car franchise Volkswagen.

In 1969, Simon and his business partner started to sell the VW Campers which are still iconic and  fondly remembered today!

In 1986, the second premises was purchased in Suffolk Road, Great Yarmouth, originally as a VW Dealership but in 2005, the original site in Cooke Road, Lowestoft, was purchased by Robinsons Group and the Great Yarmouth site became a Skoda Dealership.

In 1988, the motorhomes were moved to Great Yarmouth site from the Lowestoft Dealership.

Still today we supply van-based, coach-built and ‘A class’ motorhomes to customers, it’s no surprise that we’re one of Britain’s most trusted and respected motorhome dealers. We can expertly take care of all of your motorhome servicing, repair and warranty needs as well as offering a extensive accessory shop.

Since the purchase in 1986 of our Great Yarmouth premises there have been many changes. These include a extension to the motorhome site with expansive display area and a full refurbishment of the Skoda Franchise.

In 2011, we celebrated 50 years of trading with a fantastic celebration.
The Dealership is still a family run business today having moved on another generation and we hope to be here for another 50 years with the next generation!
